Ian Paynter, Chairperson

Born in Kalgoorlie Ian is married and has been living in the city for the past 29 years. Ian is a successful mining engineer having graduated from the WA School of Mines with B.Eng. (Hons) and Post Graduate Certificate in Mine Planning and Design. He has over 30 years’ experience following on after a 10 year career in mineral exploration in Australia and the pacific. Ian was one of the founding members of the Goldfields Centrecare Management Committee serving that not-for-profit organisation for 25 years.  He is also very much involved in the Catholic parish.  

Rob Wall

Rob Wall, Treasurer

Rob Wall joined the Board in November 2011. Rob is a Chartered Accountant. He has lived in Kalgoorlie for the past 20 years and has run his own Business for the last 16 years. Rob has been involved in accounting and administration of several Aboriginal organisations and communities over that time.

Rob brings valuable financial management experience to the Board & holds the position of the Treasurer.

Lee-Anne Brenssell

Lee-Anne Brenssell, Secretary

Lee-Anne Brenssell joined the Board in November 2010. Lee-Anne was previously the Coordinator and CEO of GIFSA from 2001 to 2008. Lee-Anne has many years experience in leadership, management and governance across a range of corporate, government and non-government entities. Her roles have included leadership, planning, operations, human resources, change management, training, logistics and administration. Lee-Anne has personal experience of caring for a child with a disability inaddition to her disability sector experience.

Lee-Anne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board.

Paul Morgan

Paul Morgan, Director

Paul Morgan was appointed to the Board in March 2011. Paul has extensive business management skills in the area of Marketing and Communications. He previously held the positions of Director of the Strategic and Aboriginal Services at the Department of Training and Workforce Development, Vocational Education and Training Centre (VTEC) Kalgoorlie and Manager of Training and Development with the Ngaanyatjarra Council. Paul is currently Principal Consultant at TRACS, specialising in  Business development Strategies, Partnership formation,Corporate restructure and review and Training and education.

Paul has led a number of corporate initiatives to deliver better services to individuals with disabilities accessing services in various professional capacities in Victoria and Western Australia and brings a wealth of governance experience and awareness of developmental issues in remote communities in the Goldfields to the Board.

Brendan Slattery

Brendon Slattery, Director

Brendon joined the Board in February 2012. During his University years Brendon was involved with University Camp for Kids; he was Director in 2005. He worked as a Solicitor for Legal Aid in Perth prior to moving to Kalgoorlie to commence his own legal firm. He has previously chaired GIFSA’s Board.  Brendon  now resides in Perth and continues to practice law.

Brendon brings a wealth of experience with disadvantaged people to the Board.
